Liverpool have been linked with Moroccan international and Fiorentina star, Sofyan Amrabat, and there is another update coming from Italy.
As per reports from today, the African star is very close to leaving Fiorentina this summer. Moreover, Liverpool, who are in dire need of midfielders, are monitoring the situation.
Along with Liverpool, Newcastle are also said to be interested in the player’s signature this summer. The asking price of £30m from the Italian club is said to be considered a bit high by the Reds.
Moreover, the Serie A club are not interested in extending the player’s contract. The club are understood to be looking at replacements for the midfielder already. The likes of Maxime Lopez and Hjulmand are said to replace the former Verona player.
Liverpool could sign the Moroccan star, Amrabat
As per reports, the Reds are concretely moving to sign the midfielder but are unwilling to pay the asking price set by the president, Commisso.
It is reported that the Serie A side are demanding a fee of £25.8 million (30 million euros) to offload the 26-year-old.
Amrabat was one of the best players at the FIFA World Cup as Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
He was also a key member of the Fiorentina side that reached the finals of the UEFA Conference League but eventually lost to West Ham.
Without a doubt, Sofyan Amrabat is a solid play breaker and Liverpool needs to reinforce their DM position.
After securing the services of the World Cup winner, Mac Allister, the Reds are still in the market for midfielders.
The likes of Kone, Thuram, Veiga, and Barella are being brought up. And Amrabat has been on the Liverpool radar for quite some time now.
Should the African sign for Liverpool, he might partner Fabinho in the defensive midfield position. Also, Klopp is looking to bring in younger players into his squad. The 26-year-old would be an ideal fit with him entering his peak with a mix of youth and experience.
