Manu Kone to Liverpool FC

Liverpool takes £35m Caicedo shortcut to leave Man United even deeper in the transfer mud

Moises Caicedo has had an incredible season and Liverpool are said to sign their own version of the Ecuadorian midfielder in Kone, who would cost much less.

The French midfielder is widely regarded as one of the top targets for Liverpool along with Thuram. Along with the 22-year-olds, the Reds are also in the market for Gabri Veiga and Nicolo Barella.

After securing the signing of Mac Allister, who was also being chased by rivals, Man Utd, the Reds are looking to sign a few more players.

Manu Kone Better than Caicedo?

Manu Kone could be an absolute steal for Liverpool as he could do the dirty work like Caicedo and go forward as well. He would be available for much cheaper than Ciacedo at around £35m. However, Man Utd are asked to shell out somewhere around £70m for their Ecuadorian target.

Also, the sporting director, Jorg Schmadkte has a strong Bundesliga connection. He would use them all to lure the Monchengladbach player to Anfield.

Moreover, with the French player in Konate being in the ranks of Liverpool, it might just do the trick to convince Kone to play under Klopp.

While Liverpool are known to sign quality players at a very cheap price, the Red Devils are not. They are moreover, yet to make any move in the transfer market.

Also, their pursuit of Mason Mount has failed as Chelsea rejected their recent bid of £50m for the creative midfielder. But we all know they will try again as Ten Hag wants the Chelsea midfielder.

Ten Hag also has shown interest in signing Rice who is said to be best buddies with Mount. He believes that if Mount makes a switch, Man Utd could lure the defensive midfielder to join his best pal.

However, it wouldn’t be easy as the Champions and the recent treble winners are also interested in the Englishman. Along with that, Arteta is also interested in signing him and bringing him to The Emirates.

With all being said, Man Utd are currently in pole position to be signing no one with only rumours being a source of happiness for their fans.
