Liverpool are eyeing a summer transfer for Spanish youngster and Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro to kickstart the Slot era.
The 2023-24 season is about to end in the next few weeks and this would mean the glorious Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield will come to an end after nine years of pride, emotions and tears.
Even though the farewell would not be what the Reds would have planned, it would definitely be a deserving celebration of the great German tactician.
The Merseysiders have also been busy with the backroom work of finding an adequate replacement for Klopp.
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has been selected as the successor to the current Anfield gaffer. Additionally, the club officials have also started to work toward securing the future success of LFC.
Michael Edwards, the current CEO of football, alongside Richard Hughes, the incoming sporting director, has started scouring the transfer market to find some necessary reinforcements for the smooth operation of the Dutchman in the post-Klopp era.
Liverpool To Sign Alberto Moleiro
The Anfield club has reportedly been considering signing 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Alberto Moleiro. The youngster is currently playing for LaLiga side Las Palmeiras.
Moleiro, traditionally an attacking-midfielder, is capable of operating as a wide forward and also a second-striker.
While making 24 appearances in LaLiga, the Spanish U-21 international has scored two goals and assisted three. He also averages 1.8 dribbles and an 80.8% pass completion rate each game (stats correct as of 06.05.24) (stats via WhoScored).
The 20-year-old’s contract has a €60M release clause, but the Spanish side might be ready to sell the player for a reported fee of somewhere around €25-30M.
However, the Reds will be contested by Inter Milan to sign the tantalizing youngster as both the clubs ‘have been working for months’ to secure the deal.
Arne Slot is known for developing young talents into promising players which also aligns with the club’s vision.
If Moleiro joins the Merseysiders, he will get the perfect environment to grow and unleash his full potential.
