ACF Fiorentina have reportedly told Liverpool to make an offer for Sofyan Amrabat, with the Serie A side eager to sell the midfielder this summer.
According to Fiorentina.it, the Tuscan-based club are keen to cash in on the Morocco international. Fiorentina are reportedly looking for as much as £30m for Amrabat as Liverpool remains interested in the 26-year-old.
Amrabat was one of the stars of the 2022 World Cup for Morocco who had a dream run till the semi-finals. He was highly tipped to leave Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
However, the midfielder was unable to secure a move despite interest from Liverpool and a late bid from FC Barcelona.
This summer, though, is shaping up to be a different story for Amrabat, with Fiorentina now asking the likes of Liverpool to make an offer for the African superstar.
Fiorentina are set to raise funds for transfers of their own, though it is not yet known if the Reds will accept this demand.
Indeed, Liverpool are looking to add another midfielder to their ranks this summer having already signed Mac Allister. But given Amrabat’s age and his profile, it’s likely that the Anfield side will move on to other, younger targets.
Would Liverpool go for Amrabat or much younger targets?
Amrabat’s moment in the limelight came and went last winter and the midfielder is more than ready for a move to a big club this summer.
Also, Liverpool can be forgiven for now wanting to pass up on the 26-year-old, especially after Fiorentina’s latest demands.
As we know, Liverpool are now on the hunt for a younger midfielder who could be part of the club’s future. Although Amrabat would be a great short-term fix, Klopp would be wise to move on to other targets this summer.
The obvious choice would be the French duo of Kone and Thuram with the 22-year-olds heavily linked to Anfield. Moreover, the young stars would be an integral part given their technical ability on and off the ball.
It is now to be seen the way Liverpool would react with a wide range of choices for their midfield.
