Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a move for Gabri Veiga, a player Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on signing.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has told GiveMeSport that Liverpool are competing with Manchester City and Chelsea for the signing of Gabri Veiga.
The Reds have been interested in the player for a few months and they are keen on signing the player from Celta Vigo this summer.
Real Madrid and Napoli are also keen on the 21-year-old Spanish central midfielder. Galetti has said that Liverpool are now ready to make a move for Veiga, who has a release clause of €40 million (£34 million) in his contract at Celta.
Liverpool needs to act fast to beat Manchester City for Gabri Veiga signing
In our opinion, if Liverpool are really determined to sign Gabri Veiga, then they have to trigger his release clause before Manchester City does.
City have just won the treble and are a hugely attractive football club now. There is also Pep Guardiola, one of the best managers of the current era, which could help to lure in players.
The 21-year-old could be tempted to move to City and work under a manager who improves players. However, Klopp is no different as he does have a track record of turning average players into world-class stars.
But the reality is that the Sky Blues are dominating club football at the moment. They have been the best club under Pep for quite a while now. The treble is now just the cherry on top.
However, it might just come down to the minutes the player would get. At City, the Spaniard might struggle to get into the starting XI. With the likes of Bernardo, Ilkay, Rodri, De Bruyne, and more, he might have his say in cup competitions only.
On the contrary, the 21-year-old could be a regular starter in Klopp’s team. With the new signing of Mac Allister, Klopp would love to bring in another attacking midfielder for creativity.
It is now to be seen how the Reds would compete with their rivals in the transfer market for the player.
