Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea-inducing bug norovirus before the clash with Liverpool.
The crisis-ridden Manchester United side will be traveling to Anfield this Sunday for the season’s first clash between the two rivals. The Merseysiders are the favorites for the clash.
Having faced their only loss in September in the controversial match against Tottenham Hotspurs, the Reds are topping the PL points table with 37 points after 16 games played.
The Anfield giants are cruising through good form in the PL with a 10-game unbeaten run. The club will be hoping to extend the run further.
On the other hand, the Red Devils are currently 6th in the points table with 27 points after equal numbers of games played. They also exited from UCL mid-week after losing to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
So, the match will be one-sided. But a recent report could add something more to the misery of the United fans.
Marcus Rashford out against Liverpool for norovirus?
The Manchester United academy product missed the match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. According to a report via GOAL, the English forward had been suffering from the vomiting and diarrhoea-inducing bug norovirus.
However, on a positive note, Rashford has returned to training before the fierce match on Sunday. The medical staff at Old Trafford is constantly monitoring his progress regarding his health. Still, his starting in the game remains very uncertain.
This would have been a good opportunity for the Red Devils attacker to redeem himself. His club previously suffered a 7-0 loss last season against LFC. So, they will be hoping they do not see that result repeating.
The 26-year-old has only scored 2 goals in the PL this season. Compared to last season, where he had achieved 4 by this stage, his performance this season is terrible.
United boss Eric Ten Hag will have to put up a team even though crucial players like Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and others. It will be a real surprise if the Manchester side leave the pitch with a dignified result.
