‘Not Mature Enough’ Ruben Amorim & His ‘Inept Agent’ Blamed For Liverpool Managerial Rumours

Journalist Eduardo Damaso has claimed that Ruben Amorim was never being considered by Liverpool as Klopp’s replacement and he and his agent are to be blamed.

The exciting and entertaining managerial hunt for the Reds‘ next boss after Jurgen Klopp’s imminent departure has come to an end.

Arne Slot, the current Feyenoord manager’s appointment as the head coach of the club at the end of this season has been confirmed.

Although this has relieved the fans and the pundits, who had been concerned regarding the club’s future, the news came after much drama suffered since Klopp’s departure announcement back in January.

At first, former Red and present Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso was being considered by the higher authorities at Anfield as the successor to the German manager.

However, the Spaniard put an end to all the speculations and rumours by announcing his commitment to the German side for the next few seasons.

Then the names of several other potential candidates started surfacing, although the name of Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim had been on the top of that alleged wanted list.

However, the club allegedly cooled their interest in the Portuguese manager as he made a trip to London to hold talks with West Ham United.

Ruben Amorim Not Fit For Liverpool

A recent report by journalist Eduardo Damaso via Record has claimed that Liverpool’s interest in Amorim was a ‘mirage’ created by his ‘inept agent’. Damaso wrote,

“On the verge of a classic of the greatest importance, Amorim, known for the emotional intelligence he has shown in leading the Sporting team, made a huge false step that, ultimately, could have cost the Lions their title.

He showed, after all, by himself and through the actions of an inept agent, that Liverpool was a mirage.

He showed that the quick trip to London to talk to someone from West Wam seemed like a botched auction and, much worse, that control of the team on the eve of a game with FC Porto would be a minor matter.”

The journalist concluded the report by suggesting that even though Amorim’s ‘qualities as a coach are indisputable’, he is clearly ‘not yet mature enough’ to handle the role at LFC.

Journalist Melissa Reddy claimed that the 39-year-old’s ‘playing philosophy’ and ‘long-term vision didn’t align with the Liverpool way’.

Whatever the reasons might be, the club should now focus on securing a better future in the post-Klopp era.
