Multiple sources have confirmed that two crucial Liverpool stars: Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, will be staying at Anfield for the next season.

The Klopp era at Anfield will be ending at the end of this season within the next few days. Arne Slot is going to take charge of the club as head coach and not manager from the 2024-25 season.

Amid all these crucial changes, the fates of some of the indispensable stars are in doubt. Four of the longest-serving and crucial stars for the Reds: Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah will be the pillars on whom the team will be built around.

However, Van Dijk and Salah have been heavily linked with transfer outs along with Klopp’s Merseyside exit.

Both the players have already crossed the 30-year-old threshold and like Alexander-Arnold, their contracts are due to expire by 2025.

Despite all these facts, Van Dijk is undoubtedly one of the best centre-backs, if not the best in the world right now.

The same can be said for Salah, he has been on top of his game for the last few seasons, rightfully claiming the title of Europe’s best winger, although some would argue.

What Is The Future Of Van Dijk And Salah At Liverpool?

The Egyptian forward had been on the radar of Saudi Pro League last summer to such an extent where they were ready to spill £200M.

On the other hand, the Dutch skipper has recently been subject of interest for the German giants Borussia Dortmund.

However, writing in his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Christian Falk debunked the claims,

“The rumours about a transfer of Virgil van Dijk to Borussia Dortmund are not true. There are currently no talks between the club and the management of Van Dijk.”

Speaking on the Men in Blazers podcast, the Reds captain clarified his situation by saying,

“It’s much taken out of context. To be 100 per cent clear, I’m fully committed to the club. I love the club, I love the fans. It is fully taken out of context. It’s not about me, it’s not about I, it’s about us and nothing has changed.”

Al-Ittihad, on the case of Salah, will be ready to swoop in after June 2025, when his contract runs out and he will be available for free.

However, new sporting director Richard Hughes is willing to hold talks with the forward regarding contract extension.

Whatever may happen, the stay of these two stars can ne confirmed which will be relieving for Liverpool and their fans.
