Liverpool are reportedly growing interest in Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement and are also eyeing Joshua Kimmich.
After a successful midfield rebuild this summer, the Merseysiders are currently in a very good position across all competitions.
Most of their success can be attributed to the new midfield consisting of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch alongside the pre-existing ones.
However, the Reds’ agenda for the winter transfer window could be very different than this summer. The club will be focusing on bolstering their back-line which is long due.
The Anfield giants will also look out for an attacker who will potentially replace outbound Mohamed Salah. Moreover, the recent reports add more to it.
Liverpool target Kenan Yildiz and Joshua Kimmich
According to a report via Calciomercato, LFC are keeping an eye on the Juventus youngster. The report has described Yildiz as someone who possesses ‘explosiveness, physique and excellent technique’.
Sports Director Jorg Schmadtke has reportedly recommended the 18-year-old to Jurgen Klopp. The Turkish international is a versatile forward who is capable of playing anywhere across the frontline.
Yildiz had an impressive 2022-23 season where he made 45 appearances across all competitions for Juventus’ youth set-up. The youngster scored 15 goals for them in that season and earned quite a name for himself.
Although the report states that the Merseysiders’ interest is ‘preliminary’ for now, ‘an attempt by the English in the coming months cannot be ruled out.’
Another report by renowned journalist Christian Falk has revealed that the English giants are one of the few clubs who are interested in Bayern Munich ace Joshua Kimmich.
Wataru Endo has been the only summer signing who has not adapted to the pace of English football. So LFC can again scour the market in search of a No. 6.
The Reds coach is very much aware of the German international and his strengths. Klopp will be happy to sign the midfielder as his playing style would ‘suit’ the Reds.
Transfermarkt has valued Kimmich at at €75M (£64M) and his contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2025.
If the Anfield giants can take advantage of the situation, they will end up with a pretty solid team which will boost the second half of this season for title challenge.
