Liverpool have matched their 84-year-old incredible stat, highlighting just how impressive their start to the 2023/24 season has been at Anfield.
Klopp’s men have won all 10 of their Anfield fixtures which has seen them sit third in the Prem. They are currently level on points with Manchester City, with whom they drew last weekend.
Last night, they hit double figures with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over LASK during their Europa League game.
Liverpool equal 84-year old record with victory at Anfield
Liverpool hosted LASK and won 4-0 over the Austrian side. Cody Gakpo scored twice while Mo Salah and Luis Diaz were also on the score sheet. This equalled a record that Wolves had set, way back in the 1938/39 season.
As per Opta, Jurgen Klopp‘s side are only the second team in the history of the top division to win 10 straight matches at home by a margin of two or more goals.
Only Wolves have previously managed that feat, registering a run of 12 games themselves, back in 1938/39 season.
However, Liverpool aren’t done yet as they could stretch this run a bit further. They welcome Fulham this weekend and a victory against the London side could see their record stretch to 11 games unbeaten.
Furthermore, if they are to win by two or more goals, they would have Manchester United in their way. With another astounding victory like last season, the Reds would be equalling the 12-game-unbeaten record set by Wolves.
The last time Liverpool failed to win at Anfield came back in May. Roberto Firmino was among the four players who waved emotional goodbyes to the Kop after the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
The Reds still have a long way to go. Moreover, they would surely be looking to win some silverware and not just set records.
The fans and Klopp would be eager to come out with all 3 points against Fulham on Saturday.
