Liverpool are reportedly willing to pay £45m this January to secure the transfer deal of OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.
The midfield revamp during the summer transfer window has worked wonders for the Reds. The club finds themselves in the 1st place in the PL points table.
Moreover, the Merseysiders have also been brilliant with their performances in UEL. They have already qualified for the next round of the competition as they top their group.
This turnaround has been made possible by the latest additions in the midfield, who fit into manager Jurgen Klopp’s strategy perfectly.
However, the recent injury concerns can hamper the Anfield giants‘ title hopes. With Diogo Jota, Alexis Mac Allister and Diogo Jota joining the prevailing absentees Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, and Andy Robertson, the squad depth is slightly shallow now.
But on a positive note, the club officials have already started working behind the curtain to facilitate new signings this January. Furthermore, the latest report has reassured that fact.
Liverpool working to secure Khephren Thuram deal
Earlier reports suggested Liverpool have again reignited their interest in the French midfielder. The latest report from Calcio Mercato Web has confirmed that the English giants are ready to pay the transfer fee of £45m to secure the deal.
The report has also mentioned that Italian side Juventus, who bought his brother Marcus Thuram, are also interested in the midfielder. But the Reds have the upper hand due to their interest in summer.
Speaking about his market demand this summer, the Frenchman stated last month,
“I wanted to continue to progress at Nice, and progress as a player at this club. Honestly, it made me happy to be linked to all these clubs left, right and centre.
It shows I’m doing the right things but as I said, I knew I wanted to stay here.”
Klopp could use a great signing like Khephren Thuram going into the second half of the season.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
