Thiago Alcantara has decided his departure from Liverpool with one year remaining on his contract and will possibly move to La Liga.
The Reds are currently going through a little rough situation as players leave while the club is amidst a midfield rebuild. Although the Merseysiders signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
However, two of the most senior players, club captain Jordan Henderson and reliable midfielder Fabinho, both will leave the club.
They are going to join the Saudi Pro League this summer, which will hit the Anfield giants hard in the near future.
And latest reports indicate that Thiago might be moving out of Liverpool this summer.
Thiago Alcantara wants Liverpool departure
According to Sport, the Spanish international wants to move out of Anfield with one year remaining on his contract. Manager Jurgen Klopp still rates him highly.
However, the fans and the team could not really see his best side since his arrival from Bayern Munich back in 2020. He has been out of the team most of the time because of injury.
And he is concerned about his role in this new-look midfield of the Reds. So he thinks it is best for him to get a transfer. The report also states that the club has not approached him for a contract extension.
Now the report has indicated that three Spanish clubs are there as an option for the 32-year-old. Since leaving Barcelona, the opportunity for a second spell in La Liga might be underway here for Thiago.
The Brazil-origin midfielder will be waiting for offers to come from Sevilla, Real Sociedad, and Celta Vigo. He will be able to continue to play Champions League football if he joins Sociedad or Sevilla.
Whereas, Celta Vigo will not be able to offer Thiago any European football. However, he might play alongside previous Liverpool target Gabri Veiga.
If Liverpool does not receive any offer for the midfielder, they will keep him for this season and will have to let him go for free in the next season. So it will be in the best interest for Liverpool to cash in on Thiago while they can.
