Liverpool have recently been interested in PL sensation Cheick Doucoure and Crystal Palace has slapped a £65M price tag on the Reds target.
The Anfield giants are currently going through one of the biggest squad rebuilds in recent years. The club’s effort to make signing has already been pretty evident.
The Merseysiders have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in their attempt to bolster the midfield.
Meanwhile, they will also lose experienced players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Both midfielders will reportedly join Saudi Pro League this summer.
So in this situation, Liverpool have no choice but to make new midfield signings, especially defensive-minded midfielder. And names like Romeo Lavia, Kalvin Phillips, and Sofyan Amrabat are doing the rounds.
However, the Reds have recently shown interest in signing Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace as per the earlier reports.
Liverpool to negotiate for their latest target Cheick Doucoure
According to the latest report via 90min, Crystal Palace have set an asking price of £65M for Doucoure.
The Malian midfielder has displayed tremendous efforts and work and caught many eyes in his debut season.
The 23-year-old appeared in 35 matches across all competitions for Palace and although he has not scored yet, he has assisted 3 goals.
And defensively the Bamako-born player has averaged 2.3 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game (Stats via WhoScored).
Although, Liverpool will not break the bank for the asking price by Palace. However, Crystal Palace might be open for negotiations if the perfect suitors arrive.
The Reds have to sign a defensive midfielder this summer and Doucoure looks like a good replacement for Fabinho.
The Mali international certainly has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the PL under Jurgen Klopp.
If Liverpool are able to sign Cheick Doucoure, their midfield would definitely become unstoppable in the upcoming season.
