‘They Are Working On That Already’: Fabrizio Romano Shares Update On Liverpool’s Crucial Transfer Business!

Renowned journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared an update that Liverpool are working on closing the signing of defensive reinforcement.

A tricky future is waiting ahead for the Merseyside giants as the 2023-24 season comes to an end. The summer of 2024 will change a lot of things at the club.

Klopp, after almost nine years filled with joy, glory and emotions, will be bidding goodbye to the English giants.

Current Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has been selected by Michael Edwards & Co. to replace the German tactician at the Anfield helm.

The club is expected to undergo some major changes with the commencement of the Dutchman’s tenure. The speculations about some of the players leaving the club this summer raise the question of whether LFC have planned something.

Transfer analyst Fabrizio has shared some information regarding that development.

Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool To Sign New Defender

Speaking on The Debrief, the journalist revealed,

“It could be busy, I think it could be busy, a new centre-back for sure, they are working on that already. So a new centre-back and I think something in the offensive positions. I expect Liverpool to complete something like two or three signings this summer.”

The Reds have suffered quite a bit with their lack of defensive options this season as Virgil van Dijk could not have a consistent partner alongside him due to the fair share of injuries of Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate.

With Matip’s contract running out this summer, the club will have some of their wage bills reduced to accommodate a centre-back, preferably left-footed.

The Merseysiders are rumoured to be eyeing Sporting defender Goncalo Inacio and some others. What happens this summer will be unveiled in the next few weeks. Till then it is a matter of patient waiting for the fans.
