Al-Ittihad have reportedly made a staggering £215 million bid to acquire Liverpool’s star forward, Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian football sensation is currently under a contract with the Reds until June 2025, but he has been the subject of ongoing transfer rumors, particularly linked to the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Ittihad initially showed their interest by submitting a £150 million bid on the final day of the English transfer window, which Liverpool promptly rejected.
However, the Merseysiders are still concerned about Salah’s stay at Anfield, as the Saudi transfer window remains open until Thursday.
In a final attempt to secure Salah’s signature this summer, representatives from Al-Ittihad traveled to London over the weekend.
Al-Ittihad returns for Mohamed Salah
According to reports from The Sun, they have now returned with a world-record bid, which could reach up to £215 million when factoring in add-ons.
As part of their enticing offer, Al-Ittihad have proposed a contract for Salah that includes a remarkable £2.45 million per week salary.
The contract also includes various incentives, such as a significant share of shirt sales and a £55,000 win bonus.
Furthermore, Al-Ittihad have extended offers for Salah to take on ambassadorial roles with at least three major Saudi corporations, each willing to pay him £6 million.
Al-Ittihad are awaiting a response to their latest offer, but if unsuccessful in securing Salah’s transfer before Thursday’s deadline, they reportedly plan to revisit their interest in January.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has tried to downplay the speculation surrounding Salah’s potential departure but has acknowledged the possibility of him moving to Saudi Arabia next summer.
Additionally, Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has mentioned that Salah has expressed his desire to remain at Anfield.
In their most recent match, Salah and Szoboszlai both scored to help Liverpool secure a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has made 309 appearances across all competitions, scoring an impressive 188 goals and providing 81 assists.
