In a transfer saga that has gripped Liverpool fans, Dominic Szoboszlai was the latest of the Liverpool team to be questioned over the Salah transfer saga.
The Hungarian suggested in his post-match comments that the transfer saga had been broached in the dressing room. However, now it seems that the Egyptian king is keen to continue his Anfield journey.
“You know it is football everyone is talking. We’re really happy that he has stayed.
We are of course, speaking between each other but he (Salah) wants to stay, he wants to be here and be with us. We are really happy-we need people in the team like him.”
Liverpool cruised to victory over Aston Villa with both the Hungarian and the Egyptian on the score sheet.
Salah set to stay at Liverpool
The Egyptian has started very well for Liverpool this season, as always. But the Liverpool fans have been put to unrest by his links to Saudi.
Moreover, the Saudi transfer window is allowed to remain open until 7th September.
This is a six-day extension after the English window has been slammed shut. Hence, we could still expect this transfer saga to have a twist in the next few days.
The Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad have already tested Liverpool’s resolve. The Middle Eastern side bid a huge £150m For the Egyptian on transfer deadline day.
However, the Anfield club held firm after already losing two key stars Henderson and Fabinho.
Although the Reds shortlisted a few suitable replacements, it is hard to think that they would’ve replicated the Egyptian’s legacy.
The number eleven is a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s team and continues to be their best performer.
But now the fans would hope that Salah is focused on his next game for Liverpool rather than a move to Saudi.
He already has two goals and two assists in four games for the Merseysiders. If the Egyptian continues this form Liverpool could be competing for every trophy this season.
