One of the midfield stars on the roster will soon leave Liverpool. As Klopp approves a significant surprise move, midfielder Naby Keita is anticipated to sign for a new club ‘next week.

According to reports, Liverpool will unexpectedly bid a premature farewell to one of their most expensive acquisitions next week after Jurgen Klopp allegedly approved the player’s transfer to Turkey.

Liverpool’s midfield dilemma throughout this season

The Reds are now ranked 10th in the rankings despite their struggles to achieve their best form this year. They have just eight victories in their 19 Premier League games thus far, so they will be anxious to get a winning momentum. It will be crucial for their upcoming clash with Real Madrid which is right around the corner.

Liverpool’s well-known midfield troubles have contributed to some of their problems this season. Rebuilding their locker room and ensuring they are back among the championship contenders next season is one of Klopp’s main tasks this year. However, as of right now, the latter task seems far-fetched.

Thus, Jude Bellingham is the Merseyside club’s top target and also the answer to many questions in the middle of the park. However, any trade involving the Borussia Dortmund kid is expected to cost them a club-record sum.

But it’s probable that Liverpool will also require at least one additional signing in addition to Bellingham. The fact that Liverpool are expected to lose at least two players makes the need for reinforcements necessary.

Both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita’s contracts expire in the summer. They’ve had a history of injuries and one of them is anticipated to depart Anfield as a free agent. James Milner, who turned 37 earlier this month, could also be nearing the end of his Merseyside career.

Naby Keita is allowed to leave Liverpool early by Klopp

To put it mildly, Keita has been a huge disappointment. He is the club’s fourth most expensive acquisition ever after joining for a staggering £52.75 million from RB Leipzig in 2018.

A lot was expected of the Guinean star after inheriting the renowned No. 8 shirt at Anfield. However, injuries have significantly reduced his impact at Anfield. Additionally, with his contract set to expire this summer, rumors in January said Klopp was considering including him in a move for an Inter Milan player.

Even if such action never materialized, Keita’s future is still up for dispute. According to recent Turkish rumors, the footballer has had discussions about joining Galatasaray. Up until February 8th, the Turkish transfer window is still open, and Keita is apparently their top target.
