Brazil international, Fabinho has been removed from the squad list by Liverpool after reports have emerged that the player has agreed on personal terms with the Saudi club.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder is said to be heading to the Middle East this summer. He is not traveling to Germany with Klopp and his men as part of their pre-season tour.
The former Monaco man is said to have agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro-League champions, Al-Ittihad.
He has made 219 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Monaco in 2018. The Brazilian has been a key figure in Klopp’s side who won and dominated Europe on their way to the Champions League.
Nuno, who is Al-Ittihad’s new head coach, has already signed the Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema. Moreover, they have brought in the likes of N’Golo Kante and Celtic winger, Jota.
Now, Fabinho is said to be the next on the list. Fabinho was removed on Friday night from Liverpool’s upcoming camp in Germany.
However, Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has travelled with the squad despite rumours suggesting that he has agreed personal terms with Al-Ettifaq.
Fabinho to leave Liverpool this summer?
It comes as a surprise but as per the sources everything looks true and yes it seems like Liverpool are going to cash on their Brazilian star midfielder this summer.
Meanwhile, the Reds are now left with the huge task of replacing the Brazilian midfielder and there have been quite a few names.
The likes of Caicedo, Lavia, and a new one, Florentino Luis is thrown around often. However, after signing two midfielders for a combined fee of around €95m, there might be little budget to spend for the Reds.
The likes of Caicedo would be very expensive with Brighton asking well over €100m for the Ecuadorian. Also, the relegated Southampton have slapped a fee of €50m for the Belgian, Romeo Lavia.
Thus, it is now to be seen who Klopp would bring in to replace Fabinho the next season.
