Eminent journalist Paul Joyce has explained what can be the bid scare for Jurgen Klopp as the PL clash between Liverpool and Manchester City is nearing.
The Merseysiders recently have been in some bad situations with decisions going against them. These have resulted in them dropping points which have put them in the 4th place in the PL points table.
However, this does not imply that their performances have been bad. The Anfield giants have displayed some exceptional quality of football with the intention of competing for the title glory.
Although they are currently 3 points short of the 1st place, there is still quite a possibility they can win the PL. But the main competitor of the Reds would definitely be Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Klopp has worries ahead Manchester City-Liverpool clash
The first clash of this season with the treble-winners is scheduled for 25th November at Etihad.
However, Klopp has certainly not been very happy with the fixtures LFC have been assigned. Paul Joyce commented on this issue on Twitter saying,
“Man City-Liverpool on Nov 25 to kick-off at 12.30pm. Third time this season Jurgen Klopp’s side has been in that slot immediately after an international break.
It will be the 14th occasion immediately after an international break since Klopp took over. Spurs, with six, are next.”
The reason why the German coach hates playing early kick-offs right after the international break is that it gives less time for the players to rest and re-energize themselves.
Although the major argument against this claim can be that opposition players also would be going through the same situation, it is undeniable that the lack of rest affects their performance.
Even in the match against Wolves, the Reds struggled to get into action right from the beginning and had to force their way through to a comeback.
Now Guardiola will also face a similar kind of situation with most of his players leaving for international duty. He also might express his concerns in the future which could benefit the Merseysiders.
But even if there is no rescheduling done by PL, both the teams can only hope that their players put in exceptionally good performances for their side to win the game.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
