Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that youngster Kaide Gordon has trained with the first-team this whole week since returning from his long-term injury.
The Reds are all set to lock horns with the Blues on Saturday as the former will try to climb to the 1st place on the PL table, while the latter will try to solidify their lead.
The clashes between these two English giants have been probably the most entertaining and legendary matches of all for the last half a decade.
And most of the credit for all the hype goes to the two masterminds Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
However, the match this weekend can start in a sluggish manner due to the early kick-off. As both the top-tier teams’ players flew across the globe to rejoin their respective clubs from the international break.
Kaide Gordon back at Liverpool first-team training
Speaking in his pre-match press conference Friday, Klopp stated that there are no new injury update. He also commented on young players saying,
“Only the long-term absentees are still out, no new concerns before I entered this room.
Conor Bradley completed normal in training but now he needs to play games, starting with the U21s.
Kaide Gordon trained with us all week, which is really exciting, looks really good. [He] is now to gain minutes, but I think that’s it.”
The 19-year-old signed for the Anfield side back in 2021 aged 16 years. He got his senior Reds debut later that year against Norwich City in an EFL Cup match.
He also became the Merseysiders’ second-youngest goalscorer and their youngest-ever scorer in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town.
But his career halted for a while as he suffered several injuries which have sidelined him since January 2022. But he made it to the senior Liverpool bench as the club faced Toulouse two weeks ago.
And the positive affirmation from the boss could actually mean he will get back into action very soon if not against Manchester City.
