Jurgen Klopp praises Liverpool subs for their dominance and relentless energy to crush Sheffield United at Anfield in their recent Premier League game.
Jurgen Klopp Becomes Confident After Seeing the Squad Stepping Up Against Sheffield United
Jurgen Klopp was relieved to see his Liverpool side grind out a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Sheffield United at Anfield.
The Reds boss conceded his team were far from their fluent best, struggling to find their usual attacking rhythm against the Premier League’s basement club.
However, Klopp was quick to praise the impact of his substitutes, who helped turn the tide after the Blades had equalized.
The Reds Showed Real Dominance At Anfield Feels the Manager
The German manager lauded the Scottish Left-back Andy Robertson for his relentless attacking runs which gave a boost to the team.
He also implied the importance of the introduction of Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo, they played a huge part in the team’s overall pace. He said,
“Example, Robbo going down the line constantly, which was really helpful. That’s the problem, the game was a difficult one to get rhythm but we should have had a better rhythm than we had.
That’s what we got after 60 or whatever. OK, we needed then Macca’s wondergoal obviously to turn it properly around, but the third goal was exactly like it should have been before already, these kind of moments – Robbo full speed, wonderful cross, sensational header and then we won the game.”
Jurgen Klopp was delighted to see the world-class performance put on show at Anfield by their World Cup-winning Argentine, Alexis Mac Allister.
The Manager Relieved to Get the Job Done At Anfield
Despite the underwhelming nature of the performance, Klopp was simply relieved to see his players get the job done, especially pleased that no new injuries were sustained, allowing his squad to recover ahead of their next challenges.
Though not the free-flowing victory many had expected, the Reds boss was content to collect the hard-earned three points that sent them back to the summit of the Premier League table.
Klopp will know his team will need to sharpen up in the coming weeks if they are to maintain their title challenge, but for now, he’ll gratefully accept the gritty nature of this particular triumph.
