Liverpool striker, Darwin Nunez has enjoyed a great international break with two goals and one assist as he is seen laughing at a frustrated Gabriel Magalhaes.
Liverpool’s number 9 frustrated the whole Brazilian defence as he was in top form and helped Uruguay emerge victorious.
However, Arsenal defender, Gabriel had made it his mission to try and frustrate the 24-year-old. He tried keeping Darwin quiet throughout the game, but the Uruguayan had other thoughts.
But after the second goal, the Brazilian was seen trying to provoke the forward. However, the number 9 simply laughed it off instead of playing petty games.
This showed a great sign of maturity from the Liverpool man and great composure.
Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez in great form
Darwin Nunez has been in great for this season for both club and country. He has 4 goals and 3 assists in 10 games for Liverpool already.
After being criticized heavily last season for being compared with Haaland, he has been tremendous this season.
Meanwhile, he has been in top form for Uruguay as well. He was involved in both goals, scoring one and assisting one to come out victorious against Brazil in their World Cup Qualifiers.
The former Benfica man is being heavily praised for his recent performances by fans and critics alike.
However, it isn’t all good news for Liverpool as the striker confirmed he felt cramping after the Brazil game.
“The truth is that to earn the position of number nine I have to work, not settle for anything and that’s what I try to do when I come to the National team.
I come to leave everything on the field, it was noticeable today. I ended up a little cramped in the end. I’m happy with the victory.”
Nunez said after the game.
The Reds return to Premier League action on Saturday and are involved in the Merseyside Derby. However, if the number 9 feels the cramps, he would be a doubt to face Everton.
This would be a shame considering the great form he has been in. However, the Reds might have to play without the striker and continue their great form.
