Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was spotted in the open training session at the AXA Training Center today before the Reds make their journey to Prague.
Injury Challenges for LFC
The Merseysiders have been facing multiple hurdles as they make their way through to the final leg of the 2023-24 season.
One of the major issues for the Anfield giants has been injury concerns, which questioned the squad depth.
So much so that manager Jurgen Klopp has to rely heavily upon the youngsters who have shown their worth on many occasions and exceeded the boss’ expectations.
In the epic 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest, the team breathed a sigh of relief as Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Andy Robertson came back in action, reducing the number of injured first-team players from 14 to 10.
But the team will be receiving another boost as key player returns to training right before the crucial Manchester City match.
Mohamed Salah Back at Liverpool Training
Liverpool conducted an open training session at the AXA Training Center today from 12.30 pm GMT before they fly to Prague for their upcoming Europa League clash.
The most exciting and reassuring scene from the session was seeing Mohamed Salah get back in training ahead of the title-deciding match against Pep Guardiola’s City.
The Egyptian has been suffering from a recurring hamstring issue since he served his nation in AFCON.
Prior to the Forest clash, Klopp provided an update on the 31-year-old by saying,
“I don’t think Mo is too far off, but he will not feature tomorrow. From there, we have to go. It’s like what we said with the other two. Touch and go, unfortunately that stays the case with Mo for a little bit longer.
But I think next week, at any point, it is possible. So he is on the way back, definitely, but not there yet.”
Since his last appearance for the Reds in a 4-1 victory against Brentford on 17 February, Salah has missed 4 games, including the crucial Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
The team has struggled a bit in the attacking department due to his absence but now as he is back, it provides a major squad boost for Liverpool and Klopp.
Even though several other key players are injured and will not return to action anytime soon, Salah’s comeback works as a beacon of hope as the club charges for the PL title amid an injury-ridden season.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
