Liverpool might have used the pursuit of Andre Trindade to target Brazilian wonderkid 17-year-old Luis Guilherme of Palmeiras.
The Anfield giants have already begun their preparations for the winter transfer window beforehand.
The club is on its way to introducing new defenders to the team and is exploring the prospects of Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon.
They are also ready to fix the defensive-midfielder issue this January. The Reds have verbally agreed terms with Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade. Although any formal bid is yet to be submitted to Fluminese, it will not be a major issue in signing him.
However, the signing of Andre could just be a facade to hide a greater swoop the Merseysiders might be planning.
Liverpool scouting Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme
According to the latest Twitter (X) update by Fabrizio Romano, LFC are keeping an eye on the 17-year-old Palmeiras youngster. The Brazilian has already caught the eyes of teams like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool who have been monitoring his progress for a “long time”.
Guilherme is an attacking midfielder who is also capable of playing upfield in the no. 10 role and right-wing position. He made his professional debut this April, only two months after he turned 17.
The Palmeiras prodigy came on as a substitute in a 4-2 victory over Tombense. Since then he has made 27 appearances for the Serie A side and registered one assist across all competitions (stats via Transfermarkt).
The Merseysiders will be hoping to complete a double swoop for both Andre and Guilherme. However, the 22-year-old would be the priority of the Reds.
Even though the club has verbally agreed terms with the Fluminese man, the club must stay persistent with their pursuit as several other clubs are interested in signing him.
But there is no doubt that Andre will be playing in the Premier League in the new year. And for Liverpool, it would be interesting to see if they can complete the double signing of the Brazilians.
