According to reports from Spain, it appears that Rodrygo‘s time at Real Madrid may be coming to an end, which could be good news for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, who have reportedly identified the Brazilian winger as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool faced a £150 million offer for Salah from Saudi Pro League team Al-Ittihad, which they turned down.
However, it’s expected that fresh and improved bids for the Egyptian may be submitted in January and next summer.
Recent reports indicated that Liverpool had pinpointed Rodrygo as the “ideal” successor for Salah, and it was suggested that the Brazil international is eager to leave Real Madrid after failing to replicate his previous season’s form under Carlo Ancelotti this term.
A tactical shift in Real Madrid, with Jude Bellingham taking on the No.10 role, has resulted in Rodrygo playing more as a striker alongside Joselu rather than as a winger, which may not suit his playing style.
Liverpool’s right-wing position, similar to Salah’s role, could be an attractive prospect for him.
Rodrygo to act as a Salah replacement at Liverpool?
A report from Nacional now suggests that Real Madrid are willing to let Rodrygo go, claiming, “Rodrygo, KO, Real Madrid accepts €100 million, it’s over.”
However, this seems somewhat unlikely, given that Rodrygo has been a regular starter for Madrid this season.
The report criticizes his recent performances, highlighting his one goal and no assists, suggesting that he is “very far from his best version.”
Several other clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, are also reportedly interested in Rodrygo.
However, it’s noted that Liverpool, under Jurgen Klopp, is the club that has shown the strongest interest and could offer a sum close to €100 million for his services.
It’s important to note that any potential move for Rodrygo to Liverpool may be contingent on Mohamed Salah’s departure, which seems unlikely to happen in January, especially if Liverpool are in contention for major trophies.
However, Salah had reportedly shown interest in such a move in the summer, so a significant offer could potentially lead to his exit.
