Mohamed Salah achieved another remarkable milestone in the Premier League during Liverpool’s match against West Ham.
The Reds’ standout player earned his team a penalty when he was fouled by Nayef Aguerd inside the penalty box.
The play began with Salah receiving a cross from Luis Diaz, which had initially missed Darwin Nunez.
Salah controlled the ball and made a burst towards the goal, but was obstructed by West Ham’s center-back, who failed to win the ball and instead tripped Salah.
The penalty call was described as crystal clear by talkSPORT‘s game reporter, Matt Jones.
Salah confidently converted the penalty, sending West Ham’s goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola, the wrong way as he powered the ball into the net.
Salah breaks another Premier League record
This accomplishment makes Salah the first player in Premier League history to either score or assist in 12 consecutive games on two separate occasions.
His first streak was from August to December 2021, and his current run began in April of this year.
Throughout his time with Liverpool, Salah has broken numerous Premier League records, including becoming the highest-scoring African player in Premier League history, surpassing the legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Despite West Ham briefly equalizing before halftime, thanks to a diving header by Jarrod Bowen that struck the post and went in, Liverpool emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, secured by second-half goals from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.
This victory marked the Reds’ sixth consecutive win in all competitions.
Next up for Liverpool is an EFL Cup 3rd round clash against former Premier League champions Leicester City.
