Liverpool Injury News: Thiago, Trent return date ahead of Leicester clash
Liverpool are gearing up to face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup, and here’s the latest update on their injury situation:
Liverpool FC Injury Update
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained a hamstring injury during the 3-0 win over Aston Villa, forcing him off the field with around 20 minutes left.
Although he’s back to running, he hasn’t returned to full training yet. There’s hope that he might be available to face Tottenham on September 30.
Expected return date: Late September
Thiago Alcantara
Thiago Alcantara was on the verge of making a comeback but faced a setback in training in August.
Jurgen Klopp had initially announced his return to training after the Newcastle game on August 27, but Thiago’s recovery has been slower than anticipated.
Meanwhile, he’s been working away from the main group, and his return date remains uncertain.
“Thiago had a little setback. He started training with the team and had a little setback so we have to slow down there a little bit,
It’s not cool for him, it’s not cool for us but it’s how it is. Thiago will use the (September) international break for that, to be up to speed I’m pretty sure. It should hopefully be enough. All the rest are available.”
Klopp said.
Conor Bradley
Conor Bradley, the young full-back, displayed promise during preseason matches in Germany.
However, he suffered a minor, unspecified injury and hasn’t been part of matchday squads since the season began.
Despite this setback, Liverpool expects him to return soon, and he could serve as a backup to Alexander-Arnold, given his impressive performances with Bolton Wanderers in League One last year.
Thus, the exact return date for Bradley is unknown at this point.
Next Up, The Reds will welcome The Foxes to Anfield on Wednesday night followed by a clash against in-form Tottenham Hotspur.
