Liverpool and Arsenal are set to lock horns in the transfer market for the signature of 22-year-old Fluminense midfielder, Andre Trindade.
After good starts to the season from both sides, they are already looking to add reinforcements in the January window.
Arsenal went on to smash their transfer record after they signed Declan Rice for £105m.
On the other hand, Liverpool signed 4 midfielders Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Endo, and Gravenberch for a combined fee of £94m.
However, that number would have been greater if not for the Caicedo saga. The Reds also missed out on Romeo Lavia, who like Ciacedo, joined Chelsea.
But the Anfield club has had their eyes on Andre since the last season itself, and now Arsenal have joined the race it seems.
Liverpool should beat Arsenal to sign Andre
As per journalist Thiago Ferreira, Arsenal have entered the race to sign the Brazilian defensive midfielder.
The Brazilian midfielder is a first-team staple for Fluminese this year. However, he is subject to a move away to raise some funds for the Brazilian side.
Andre is an amazing defensive midfielder who is disciplined well to remain in position.
Also at only 22, he has his best years ahead of him. He could get the best out of him in a competitive environment like the Prem.
From Arsenal’s perspective, they would like to sign a new defensive midfielder to replace Thomas Partey.
Meanwhile, it would free Declan Rice to play further forward which is how Mikel Arteta wishes to use him.
Although Klopp has invested well in his midfield, we have seen them struggle. With just one injury or a suspension, their midfield could have a detrimental impact.
The Reds are also looking at other options in the market for the midfield role. One of them is an old target of theirs in Khephren Thuram, who is also targeted by Juventus.
Klopp is also looking at Leroy Sane to replace Mo Salah, and it would be interesting to see how that unfolds.
