Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has suggested that Kylian Mbappe’s future could lie with Real Madrid, describing it as a “destiny” for the French striker.
Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and his reluctance to extend the contract has fueled speculation about a possible move, with Liverpool often mentioned as a potential destination.
Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid is certain to happen as per La Liga president
Tebas, speaking to Movistar Plus and reported by The Mirror, indicated that he was “70-80%” sure that Mbappe would join Real Madrid next season.
While he stopped short of saying he was completely convinced, he emphasized that it seemed like a natural progression for the player.
Despite initial indications that Mbappe’s contract situation could lead to a summer exit from PSG, he has rejected offers, including one from Al Hilal, and has remained with the club.
In the past, strained relationships between Mbappe and PSG have been mended, and PSG manager Luis Enrique may be hoping for a similar outcome this time.
However, until Mbappe officially signs a new contract, uncertainty remains.
If Mbappe does not commit his future to PSG, a move to Real Madrid has always seemed probable for the 166m man, as Tebas mentioned.
With Mbappe becoming a free agent, it would be an opportune time for such a transfer.
Nevertheless, Liverpool have also been linked with Mbappe, and the player himself reportedly has a keen interest in joining the club.
With Liverpool aiming to return to the Champions League, there remains a glimmer of hope that they could secure his services, even if it’s the 20-30% of doubt that becomes a reality.
However, it remains uncertain where Mbappe will ultimately play next season, and the situation could have more twists and turns.
