The Midfield hunt for Liverpool is ongoing, and according to Jacque Talbot, there is a good probability that Mason Mount will move to Liverpool, who he has been linked with for a while now.
In fact, Talbot said in a video posted on his YouTube account that the deal he is most optimistic would occur this summer is Mount to Liverpool.
At the conclusion of the season, the Reds will undoubtedly need to rebuild their midfield, and it appears like Mount might be one of the first players to enter Anfield’s door.
Mason Mount to Liverpool: A Done Deal?
After ‘constructive’ negotiations with Mason Mount, Liverpool have suggested that they are prepared to match the midfielder’s pay demands.
After turning down a new agreement with the club, the 24-year-old is almost ready to leave his childhood club. The midfielder’s current deal with Chelsea expires in 2024, and Chelsea aren’t willing to let him break it early.
If an agreement is reached by the end of this summer, they are willing to sell the England international. Mount reportedly rejected a revised contract from Chelsea because it fell short of his aspirations for a £200,000 weekly pay.
The transfer Talbot is most convinced will occur this summer is Mount to Liverpool.
Talbot:
“Here’s a question for you, which transfer are you the most confident about happening in the summer? Which transfer am I most confident about? Mason Mount to Liverpool, James Maddison to Newcastle? Yeah maybe, I think it’s depending on Champions League for him, I think it’s depending on Champions League.”
A perfect fit for the Scousers?
The first component of the midfield jigsaw puzzle that has to be put together at Anfield may very well be Mount to Liverpool.
Realistically, the Reds need to bring in two or three midfielders this summer. While Mount won’t be the answer to all of the Merseyside teams’ issues, his arrival will at least be a wonderful beginning to the rebuild.
The Reds require a player just like Mount. He’s a young player who is talented and really hungry. You have to believe that Jurgen Klopp’s system and his frenetic, all-action style of play are a winning combination for Liverpool in this situation.
Even though there is still a long way to go until the summer, it appears as though this agreement may be close to being finished.
