Fabrizio Romano has confirmed transfer news, which could have implications for an on-loan Liverpool player, Fabio Carvalho.
The Italian confirmed the completed transfer of Eljif Elmas to RB Leipzig from Napoli. The Bundesliga side also confirmed that they met a €25m deal.
“Official: Eljif Elmas joins RB Leipzig on €25m deal from Napoli, five year contract signed and sealed. Exclusive story, confirmed.”

Liverpool loanee, Fabio Carvalho to face a bigger challenge now
The North Macedonian’s arrival at Leipzig adds another obstacle to Fabio Carvalho regarding getting game-time. There have been reports that Liverpool are planning to recall the 21-year-old Portuguese winger from his loan spell.
The winger hasn’t had the game-time that Liverpool and the player had hoped for. The former Fulham player has only one Bundesliga start as we are at the campaign’s midway point.
The signing of Elmas would seem to make it even harder for the Liverpool loanee to feature prominently. Hence, the Reds could step up to bring the player back to their ranks.
Although Carvalho would face a challenging task to win his place in the starting XI, he could be an essential player, especially in the absence of Mo Salah in January, owing to his AFCON representation.
Moreover, he could be loaned to another club where he could get more game time. He is a player of first-team quality, so it shouldn’t be a problem finding a suitable club.
Indeed, his chances at Leipzig look bleaker than ever following the transfer of Elmas. Hence, all three parties involved would be unhappy if he continued his loan spell.
While there are talks of Mo Salah leaving the club this summer, Carvalho could be the one to step up for the Egyptians. Moreover, the Reds are looking at replacements already, but they shouldn’t also rule out Carvalho.
