Liverpool have a growing list of injuries and now would miss Mo Salah for the AFCON in January. They are looking forward to the January transfer window.
Injuries to Kostas Tsimikas, Andy Robertson and Joel Matip have pushed Liverpool to look for reinforcements in Jan. Joe Gomez is the only option at the left-back position. This would leave Liverpool without many options in the back-line.

Centre-back targets
The Reds are looking at Goncalo Inacio as their prime target, and the Portuguese would cost up to £52m. Moreover, as a left-sided centre-back, it should be no surprise why he has been heavily linked with an Anfield move.
He also has been targeted by Arsenal and Spurs, and he reportedly favours a move to the Premier League. However, the Reds aren’t just linked to one centre-back. They are also linked to Piero Hincapie of Leverkusen and Nino of Fluminense.
Forward dilemma
There is no doubt that Mo Salah is heavily linked to a move to the Saudi club Al-Ittihad. Moreover, it is rumoured that he might be leaving the club this summer, bringing his 6 seasons at Anfield to an end.
Although the Reds would not want to sell the player, they would be left with no option if the player wanted to go. Hence, it would be an excellent opportunity to look for a replacement for Mo Salah.
Johan Bakayoko has been one name presented as a potentially ideal addition. However, he is not the first-choice replacement option for the Egyptian.
Meanwhile, if we look at statistical similarities, Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby and Dortmund’s Donyell Malen are listed as possibilities.
However, the latter is far more likely to depart at this early stage in the season. But it remains to be seen whether this will be the window of a severe rebuild to Liverpool.
