Liverpool player, James Milner has begun his house hunting in Brighton after agreeing to a move from Liverpool to De Zerbi’s team, as per Football Insider.
The 37-year-old has agreed to a move to the Amex this summer as his contract with the Reds is set to expire. He would be joining Brighton on a free and would be a great addition to De Zerbi’s young squad.
It was reported last week that the Liverpool veteran has verbally agreed to join Brighton and his reign at Anfield would come to an end. In his 8 years with the club, Milner has won 7 trophies.
Moreover, he arrived at Merseyside from Manchester City on a free transfer as well. Since then he has 26 goals in 329 appearances for the Merseysiders. Also, he has lifted the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League with the club.
Despite growing old, he was an important part of Klopp’s side and made a lot of cameo appearances to help Liverpool. This season, the ex-Man City player has made 39 appearances across all competitions.
Despite Milner’s decision, Klopp said that he would love to work with the former England international “even longer”.
However, sources have revealed that the ex-Reds player, Adam Lallana was pivotal in convincing Milner to join him at Brighton.
Also, sources have claimed that the Blue side of Merseyside also attempted to sign the veteran. But the Reds midfielder rejected the offer.
Milner, and others departing Liverpool this summer
Liverpool will not only see Milner departing this summer. Other midfielders in Oxlade-Chamberlain, Keita, and Arthur Melo, would also be departing the club.
This leaves Klopp to sign some serious reinforcements to sustain in the race for the next season. There have been names like Mount, Ugarte, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, and a few others.
However, with the domestic season coming to an end, it is to be seen who the Reds would be pursuing.
