Brighton have denied any advanced talks with Liverpool over the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister, saying that the player isn’t pushing for a summer exit.
Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Liverpool target, Alexis Mac Allister is not pushing for a summer exit, yet.
The Argentine has been Liverpool’s priority since failing to go for Bellingham due to financial reasons. It had also been reported that the player was already in talks with Liverpool over a potential transfer.
Even beyond Liverpool, the World Cup winner has received many offers from top European clubs. But many had reported that the Reds were the frontrunners in signing the 24-year-old.
Brighton haven’t received any bids from Liverpool for Mac Allister
Despite all these rumours, Brighton have stated that they haven’t been contacted by the Reds over the transfer of Mac Allister.
Moreover, journalist Andy Naylor has revealed that the rumours could be ignored.
“Ignore the noise/reports re: Mac Allister and Liverpool. As things stand, there has been no contact between the clubs….and Brighton aren’t expecting any.”
If the news from the Brighton reporter is true, the Argentine is happy with the situation at the Amex. Moreover, it means that he isn’t looking to leave the club just yet.
Meanwhile, while talking on the podcast, the Insider has revealed that ‘he is not pushing for a transfer.’
“Mac Allister is such a nice guy and he’s not rocking the dressing room or anything like that, it’s not like he’s pushing for a transfer, things will happen themselves for him.
Brighton, obviously like there’s been new stories over the last 24 hours about the fact that there’s no contact here. Brighton are not expecting anything right now.
Look, they said pretty much the same thing about [Marc] Cucurella and like 24,48 hours later he was gone.
No, there’s no actual direct contact at this moment between the clubs. But Liverpool do like Mac Allister, there’s intermediaries that are aware of all this and stuff is going on.”
Where would the Argentine end up the next season?
As with the case with Cucurella, the club denied talks with other clubs, but the player ended up at Stamford Bridge to complete a £60m+ transfer.
With that in regards, we could not rule out any possibility of a transfer in the football world. Hence, the Liverpool faithful could not yet rule out any possibility of the transfer.
Moreover, the Argentine’s uncle has revealed that talks won’t be made until the Premier League season ends.
“We won’t talk to other clubs until the end of the season, that’s our position. He wants to reach Europe with Brighton and then he’ll evaluate the best option for him.”
