Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised his Uruguayan forward, Darwin Nunez saying that the forward is in a good place right now.

The Uruguayan received criticism for his lack of expected goals last season after a club-record move from Benfica.

However, he has started the season well and has been bright over the past few weeks. He has three goals and two assists to his name already this season.

Liverpool boss praises Darwin

While speaking to the Liverpool Media team, the German admitted that Darwin Nunez has been excellent in training this year.

The boss also lauded Uruguay International’s incredible goals against Newcastle and called it ‘absolutely insane.’

“He’s good, really good. He’s in a really good moment, enjoys his game a lot in the moment and that is fine. You have only a problem as a striker when you don’t have any chances. He has chances, opportunities and obviously it is too not long ago he scored the two most incredible goals I saw for a long, long time against Newcastle, it was absolutely insane.

He is in a good moment, you see that in training. It’s not important in the moment if he scores already or not. For a striker, it’s important that in these moments where you don’t score but play well, you understand it right and then just keep going and everything will fall in place anyway.”

The 24-year-old has been subjected to a lot of criticism, mainly due to the comparisons made with Haaland.

However, Nunez has needed a fair bit of time to find his feet at Anfield. And now, he is finally doing well and is getting more and more adapted to the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano says he’s heard something about Nunez at Liverpool contrary to reports

Also, with him firing in the front, Liverpool could go all the way in the Europa League as well.
