Sadio Mane, the legendary left-winger who dazzled at Liverpool, is struggling to find his form at Bayern Munich following a leg injury.

He has only managed one assist in seven appearances since returning from injury, and fans are beginning to wonder when he will return to his world-class form.

A question was put to the former Liverpool ace as to when Bayern Munich fans would be able to witness the world-class form he demonstrated on a regular basis at Anfield, with the 30-year-old responding: “Soon. I promise you.”

But it’s a shame to see such a great player facing questions about his ability.

After six successful seasons with Liverpool, Mane joined Bayern Munich in a £35m move last summer, but his progress has been hampered by his injury.

Sadio Mane’s season at Bayern

While Mane had a promising start in Germany, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, he suffered a tendon injury and was forced to undergo surgery, ruling him out of the World Cup.

Since returning, Mane has struggled to score and has managed only one assist for the Bundesliga leaders.

The Senegal international reportedly confronted Nagelsmann about his reduced role before the German was sacked by Bayern, having only seen eight minutes of action against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their round-of-16 Champions League tie.

Despite Mane’s struggles, new Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has no doubt about the player’s quality. Tuchel is backing Mane to rediscover his form and become an important player for Bayern Munich.

Mane has made 29 appearances this season, with a return of 11 goals and five assists, but his last goal came in October.

Tuchel has had plenty of time to see up close and personal just what the 30-year-old is capable of, but he acknowledged what is needed for Mane to build up his confidence. Tuchel believes that trust and patience are key to helping Mane regain his confidence and form.

A goal would certainly help to boost his confidence, and it would be great to see him shine in the upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

Mane scored seven times in 15 games against City as a Red, so there’s hope that he’ll be able to find his scoring touch again against the Premier League champions.
