Liverpool have been active in the market to sign players after a disappointing season, but Fabio Carvalho has been in the news after receiving a bid from a UCL club.
The 20-year-old is seen as a future starter by Klopp and the German is not looking to sell the player. However, it is reported that the Portuguese has received a bid from a Champions League club.
As per Paul Joyce from Times, the interested club was said to be RB Leipzig. Moreover, the bid was said to be rejected even though it was revealed that it was a ‘big money move.’
Having finished third in the Bundesliga and also losing Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea, the club is looking at possible replacements. Moreover, many of the PL clubs are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.
After conflicting reports over the club’s stance, the ever-reliable Joyce has joined those stating that the club “will resist permanent offers” but “will listen to loan proposals.”
Liverpool sees him as a ‘future starter’ but also Klopp would listen to loan offers for the Portuguese.
Could Carvalho have a breakthrough next season with Liverpool?
Carvalho arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2022 from Fulham for a fee of €5.90m. This season he played 13 times across all competitions and scored thrice. However, he hasn’t had the desired impact with the Reds and Klopp seems to be acknowledging the same.
Moreover, it has also been rumoured that the ex-Fulham player is growing frustrated with the lack of playing time. Also. he is keen on looking at another club where he could get more game time.
Now back in Lisbon following the conclusion of the season, Carvalho will have time to assess his options. Besides, the new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke would find a suitable move for all.
