Liverpool are all set to face LASK in their next Europa League clash and they have been spotted putting in the work in their training ground.
The Reds would progress through to the knockout stages if they just avoided a loss. Moreover, a victory, with Toulouse dropping points against Union SG, would ensure a top spot for Klopp’s side.
The Reds trained ahead of their clash at Anfield and injuries to Alisson and Diogo Jota are looking problematic. The duo were injured in their clash against Manchester City last weekend.
Klopp confirmed at his press conference that Alisson is set to be out for at least 2 weeks. Meanwhile, Jota is said to be out for even longer, both of them having muscle issues.
Other long-term injuries include the likes of Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, and Andy Robertson.
Liverpool include new players in their training amidst injury concerns
The Reds have included 4 youngsters Jarell Quansah, Luke Chambers, Conor Bradley, and Kaide Gordon.
Quansah has been a regular in the competition so far for the Reds. Meanwhile, Luke Chambers made his debut in the 5-1 home win over Toulouse last month.
Conor Bradley and Kaide Gordon, however, are yet to feature for Klopp’s side as he has high aspirations for them.
Bradley hasn’t made an appearance this season after suffering a stress fracture to his back. The right-back enjoyed a highly fruitful spell on loan at Bolton last term.
Moreover, Klopp admitted that he wanted to get the Northern Ireland international minutes for the under-21s.
Gordon has made three outings for the under-21s but is still on the comeback trail for full fitness after missing the entirety of 2022-23.
Klopp revealed the winger trained with Liverpool throughout last week which was ‘really exciting’. He continues to practice with the first team and that suggests he may also be involved.
Caoimhin Kelleher was set to start in goal before Alisson’s injury. However, Liverpool have not registered Adrian to be in their Europa League group-stage squad because of UEFA rules.
Moreover, young keepers, Marcelo Pitaluga and Fabian Mrozek were involved in training.
