Toulouse forward Frank Magri has lifted the lid on his post-match snub from Darwin Nunez after his side’s victory over Liverpool.

A controversial VAR decision denied Liverpool a point as they lost to the French side in their Europa League fixture last time out.

Jarell Quansah’s late goal was ruled out after Alexis Mac Allister was judged to have handled the ball.

The Reds had fallen behind to goals by Aron Donnum and Thijs Dallinga before an own goal from Cristian Casseres handed Jurgen Klopp’s side a lifeline.

But substitute Magri restored his side’s two-goal advantage before Diogo Jota netted a late consolation.

However, Liverpool remain top of Group E despite their loss in France. But Nunez was furious following the game and refused to shake hands with Magri, the Toulouse forward. It was in fact a snub that the forward was expecting due to their on-field tussle.

While talking to French publication La Depeche, Magri said that they got into a fight during the match.

“We got into a bit of a fight during the match over one or two duels. So at the end, when I see him coming… Before I hold out my hand, I see his look and I’m actually expecting it. That’s why I laugh afterwards.

I was expecting this little wind. It’s really anecdotal. It didn’t stop me from sleeping.”

The forward has failed to replicate his international form in his domestic games. But he has been a threat to the defenders and has helped his side in the build-up.

The Reds return to Europa League action on Thursday night as they welcome LASK to Anfield.

A win or even a draw would be enough for the Reds to guarantee a top-2 finish. They would face Union Saint-Gilloise against whom they have already won at Anfield.
