One of the contentious moments in the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur, managed by Ange Postecoglou, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium involved the sending-off of Diogo Jota.
In the 69th minute of the game, Diogo Jota received his marching orders for Liverpool, having accumulated two yellow cards.
Jota became the second Liverpool player to be sent off in the match, with Curtis Jones being sent-off earlier in the 26th minute.
The Unfair Red Card to Jota in Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool
The Portugal international forward, who earns £140,000-a-week according to Spotrac, received his first yellow card for a foul on Destiny Udogie.
However, television replays indicated that Jota did not make contact with Udogie during the challenge, as Udogie appeared to trip himself.
This led to the first yellow card being a harsh decision.
Former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision, highlighting the unfairness of the first booking.
Quite possibly the worst red card decision of the season for jota and that’s saying something 😳
