The referee appointed for Liverpool vs Wolves is criticised as “absolutely rotten”

The Premier League has announced the referee for this weekend’s games (Liverpool vs Wolves), with a controversial official in control at Anfield.
Liverpool is hosting wolves at Anfield on 10th September in the match week 7 fixture of the Premier League. Liverpool had a dominant performance and created many chances, but they couldn’t score past Pickford who stood so tall for Everton in the Merseyside derby. Both the teams could have nicked the three points but thanks to the Goalkeepers who were at their best as the game ends 0 – 0.
Wolves won their last game at home against Southampton 1 – 0. The wolves are currently in 14th place with 6 points. Whereas the Reds are in 7th with 9 points. Every match week has now become a must-win game for Liverpool as they have dropped enough points already in the league. Out of their six Premier league games, they have won only 2, they had 3 draws and one defeat.
Controversial referee for Liverpool vs Wolves
A VAR drama at Stamford Bridge last Saturday denied West Ham United’s equaliser against Chelsea. On the advice of VAR, to reverse a goal scored by Maxwel Cornet of West Ham against Chelsea due to a perceived foul on Edouard Mendy.
The judgement intensified the weekend’s turmoil. With Jarrod Bowen barely clipping the onrushing Mendy who Moyes accused of “faking an injury,”.
The Manager and the Captain of West Ham didn’t hold their feelings towards this drama after the game.
“It’s a scandalous decision. Absolutely rotten decision from one of the supposedly elite referees.”
Those were the words of David Moyes following referee Andy Madley’s decision. The Club captain in his post-match Interview stated
How can you go over to the monitor and call that a foul? It’s an absolute disgrace.”
However, Madley and Gillett have been named for matches while Lee Mason, who received criticism for his officiating during Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, has been removed from VAR responsibilities in this weekend’s games.
Despite his obvious error just one week prior. The Premier League has confirmed that Madley will officiate the match between Liverpool and Wolves at Anfield on Saturday. This is not the first Liverpool match Madley has presided over this year; the 39-year-old also officiated the team’s 2-2 draw with Fulham. He has officiated six Liverpool matches overall, resulting in five victories and one tie for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
This week’s game is crucial for Liverpool as they eye to win this game at home. And they also need to keep in mind the Champions League away fixture against Napoli next Tuesday. So Klopp would like to rest a few of his players and demand good performance from the Squad.
