Ayr United head scout Ray Pattison has tipped FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to be scouting Liverpool talent Ben Doak after his regular inclusion into the Liverpool first team.
As per Liverpool Echo, Doak’s former coach lauded the player’s performance for Scotland U21s in recent weeks.
Doak being scouted by Barca and Madrid and Liverpool have a decision to make
The 17-year-old has firmly broken into Liverpool’s first team this season. The teenager has featured heavily in the UEFA Europa League and League Cup under Klopp.
Now Pattison thinks that European giants, Barca and Madrid could be keeping tabs on Doak.
“The way he played for Scotland’s U-21s against Spain last month, the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid would have noticed him – hopefully not!
I was surprised Ben didn’t get a call-up to play for the main Scotland team to face Spain last Thursday as he’d have scared the Spanish.”
Doak is considered a once-in-a-generation talent for Liverpool, joining the likes of Michael Owen. He is said to be someone who could be a Liverpool and a Scotland great in years to come.
Hence, as a result, the Reds have to do all they can to develop Doak into the world-class player many expect the winger to become.
It wouldn’t be a shock if big European clubs were already keeping tabs on Doak. However, Liverpool needs to ensure the forward is never tempted to leave.
At only 17, he is a first-team regular and getting the minutes that many never expected. Under the guidance of Klopp, he would surely hit his prime.
Also, he has amazing forwards to look up to in Salah, Jota, Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez.
With a lot of football ahead in his career and a lot of promise already, he needs the right guidance to be a star.
