Liverpool will be completing their third signing of the summer transfer window with Romeo Lavia and this might be followed by the potential transfer of Ryan Gravenberch.
The Merseysiders have faced numerous challenges this summer due to the departure of senior players. A total of five senior midfielders have left the club.
At the beginning of the summer transfer window, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino, and Naby Keita left for free. This helped to free up some wages that provided for some new signings.
But the shock came when two of the most senior midfielders of the club, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were also linked with transfers. As a result, both midfielders are now joining Saudi Pro League this summer.
So to fill out the gap in the midfield, the Reds are going to sign Romeo Lavia. And the deal is almost certain to happen, however, this might not be their final signing of the summer.
Ryan Gravenberch to join Liverpool after Lavia?
While speaking on Talking Transfers Podcast, journalist Graeme Bailey discussed the possibility of Liverpool signing another midfielder after completing Romeo Lavia’s transfer.
The journalist speculated that Gravenberch might be available for a loan deal. Speaking about the £17M midfielder, Bailey stated,
“I do wonder if we do still see, there is still an interest in Gravenberch at Bayern.
Maybe, he’s available on loan, is Lavia experienced enough to start at Liverpool?
It wouldn’t surprise me to see another two and that would be four new midfielders.”
The Anfield giants had already shown interest in the Dutchman earlier. But somehow the talks did not move further and the rumours also fell through.
Although the Dutch midfielder is only 21-year-old still he has the necessary experience that the Merseysiders lack in midfield.
His addition would also mean that the bench strength will also increase and Klopp would have options to work within the middle of the park.
If Liverpool gets this deal done after Romeo Lavia then the club would have a greater midfield to jump into the next season.
