Liverpool are now focusing on completing the Romeo Lavia deal before the new season begins and also eyeing Brazilian midfielder Andre for a potential move.
The summer transfer window has been one of the craziest in the recent history of the Reds. The club predominantly entered the transfer window with the agenda to bolster the midfield.
The Merseysiders saw James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita leave the club for free. And also skipper Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are leaving Anfield this summer.
But on the brighter side, the English giants were able to sign Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. The club spent only £95M for securing both their services.
And now the Reds will be soon signing another midfielder to fill out the gaps created due to the departures.
Liverpool targeting Andre after securing Romeo Lavia
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Liverpool are now pressing to get the Romeo Lavia deal over the line. Chelsea and Arsenal are also in the race to sign the Belgian international.
But the Reds are clearly in the lead to sign the 19-year-old. Southampton will be asking for at least £50M for Lavia.
The Merseysiders are expecting the Southampton star to join the team if the £45M bid is accepted by the Saints. He will add a lot more to the midfield as the new season begins.
And the latest updates have indicated that Liverpool are also sniffing around for Brazilian midfielder Andre for a potential move. The 22-year-old is playing for Fluminese in the Brazilian League.
Andre has attracted many eyes from the PL with his performance in the Brazilian League last season. The defensive midfielder has appeared in 35 games across all competitions and averaged 2.1 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game while maintaining 93.7% passing accuracy.
He the Brazil international could also be a great signing keeping in mind squad depth and availability of dependable talents. This signing might also be beneficial for the club in the future.
