Liverpool will reportedly have to pay €40m (£35m) to sign Torino defender Perr Schuurs, who is now expected to leave the Serie A side this summer.
According to La Stampa via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Turin-based side has placed a £35m valuation on the Dutch defender.
Torino are looking for a good fee in order to sign a suitable replacement for Schuurs, who could be bound for Liverpool.
It has been reported earlier in the window that Klopp is a big fan of Schuurs. Also, the Liverpool coach is ready to bring the Dutch defender to Anfield this summer.
Moreover, the reports have further reported that the Reds have had an initial bid rejected by the Italian club.
Liverpool to make a winning bid for Schuurs?
The defender has been called an ‘aggressive’ player by many scouts. Schuurs fits the bill for what Liverpool are looking for in a CB this summer.
Moreover, the asking price for the 23-year-old does suit the PL giants’ budget. Indeed, Liverpool could soon make another bid for the Dutch centre-half.
After signing two brilliant midfielders, Klopp is not shying away from bringing in defenders as well. There have been a few names on the list as well with the likes of Colwill, Schuurs, Bastoni, and more.
The Reds didn’t have a great season and it was due to a lot of factors. Defensive errors and inconsistency have also been one of the reasons.
Schuurs is quickly emerging as a top target for Liverpool as the Reds prepare to make their third signing of the summer.
And with a £35m transfer fee now standing between Klopp and his man, a second bid should be on its way as soon as possible.
With pre-season starting next week, Liverpool needs to act quickly and sign Schuurs. This could be massive for Klopp as he could get his squad ready for the next season.
