Liverpool are looking to extend their excellent run in the transfer market by targeting Chelsea defender, Levi Colwill, who is impressing everyone in the ongoing Euros U21.
Liverpool have already completed two huge signings this summer but fans will hope to see more new arrivals before the window shuts.
Mac Allister was the first one to arrive for a mere £35m from Brighton. For the quality that the World Cup winner possesses, the fee paid is extremely cheap.
The other superstar signing has been the Hungarian, Dominic Szoboszlai who arrived at Anfield in the previous week. The Reds paid the release clause for the 22-year-old of £60m from RB Leipzig.
However, the Reds are still looking to sign a couple more players before the start of the season. Klopp is looking to bolster his defence with a few targets in his ranks.
Colwill spotted in a Liverpool shirt
The English international has been a stand-out player for club and country. Despite not breaking into the first team of Chelsea, new manager Pochettino is considering the defender for the next season.
Moreover, he played for Brighton last season on loan and has impressed many people.
Being linked to the Reds, there have been pictures on the internet that are surfacing all over the internet. The images show the player pictured in a Liverpool shirt.
This has fuelled speculations further and the Reds’ faithful are excited about the prospect of the defender playing for Liverpool.
Colwill, 20, made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls to help them finish sixth in the PL and qualify for the Europa League.
He has continued his impressive form on international duty with England U21s at Euro 2023. Moreover, he has helped the Young Lions to reach the final in Romania and Georgia.
England haven’t conceded a single goal on their way to Sunday’s final, where they will face Spain.
Furthermore, after the semi-final victory, Colwill took to social media and posted “One last push! Onto the final.”
Soon after, Harvey Elliott commented on the post which sparked further speculations. He commented saying “Let’s have a chat”, along with a laughing emoji.
Moreover, this has been an excitement for the Reds’ supporters who are convinced that the Chelsea player would be heading to Anfield.
Moreover, The Mirror recently reported that the player grew up idolizing the Reds’ legend, Steven Gerrard.
‘We’ll see what happens’: Colwill
However, speaking back in May, Colwill said he would decide his next move after the U21 Euros were finished.
“Brighton have done a lot for me. They put their trust in me when others didn’t and I’m a person that loves to repay that. We’ll see.
I don’t know what is going to happen. I’m still here until the end of the season. I just focus on that, then I’ve got the [Under-21] Euros in the summer. After that, we’ll see what happens and go from there.
Who knows, we’ll see what happens in the summer. I love the Brighton fans, I love everything about them (the club). I’ll take that into consideration.”
