Liverpool have reportedly made their move to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure who would reportedly cost around £70 million.
French news outlet Sports Zone has shared more details about the Crystal Palace player’s future. Liverpool do not have time on their side with the transfer window closing soon.
Despite signing Endo, Jurgen Klopp now wants at least one more option in the middle of the pitch.
There have been plenty of options over the course of this transfer window but none seem to have been working.
From Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch to Manchester City‘s Kalvin Phillips, Klopp has had a long list of midfield options. However, Liverpool appeared to have zeroed down on Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure.
The 23-year-old has made great progress in the Premier League since signing from the French club Lens for £21 million last summer.
The Eagles have set a price tag of £70 million on the Malian in an attempt to keep him till January.
Liverpool have to pay a huge amount and clubs do know that the Reds have got the money. The huge £110m bid to land Caicedo, which was unsuccessful, has given other clubs an idea about Liverpool’s desperation but also having the money to pay.
Liverpool look to sign Cheick Doucoure before the window closes
The report has stated that while Liverpool does want the Malian, he isn’t alone.
“Liverpool have sent Cheick Doucoure, a contract offer in the hope of striking a deal. Liverpool wants to sign a 6 before midnight Friday and is keen to vary his options, Cheick Doucoure is one for sure, but he’s not alone”
The Reds have already been unsuccessful in trying to sign a few players who are major targets for them all summer. The likes of Moises Caciedo and Romeo Lavia have been the recent ones.
Liverpool have prepared a bid for the Malian but would want to know if he is willing to make the move before submitting a bid to Crystal Palace.
