Not just Szoboszlai: Liverpool also willing to pay upfront for 21 y/o; they’ve met his agent – report

Liverpool have reportedly met with the agent of transfer target Gabri Veiga as they seek to win the race for the 21-year-old’s signature.

As per 90min, the Reds are among the four PL clubs to be battling for the Spaniard. The likes of Man City, Chelsea and Newcastle are the other clubs alongside Liverpool wanting the Spaniard’s signature.

Each club have indicated a willingness to pay the Celta Vigo midfielder’s €40m release clause upfront. Moreover, many reports have suggested that the Reds have made a contract offer for the versatile midfielder.

However, the La Liga club is adamant they won’t let their player depart for anything less than the specified figure.

Liverpool could sign Veiga after a successfully signing Szoboszlai

After a hurried decision of signing Dominik Szoboszlai, meeting a transfer target’s release clause is a hot topic.

It represents a statement of intent from Jorg Schmadtke and Jurgen Klopp that they’re ready to put the money on the table instantly when it comes to acquiring the club’s primary targets.

The club would go direct rather than trying to persuade prospective sellers into accepting instalment packages.

The fans on Twitter were seemingly unimpressed after days and weeks of only rumours circulating around and no actions taken. But now, the fans are seemingly impressed with the way the transfer targets are being acquired.

This might be due to other PL clubs moving swiftly after their rumours. The likes of Arsenal and Man City are having an eventful summer by swooping in their transfer targets.

Should the Reds do the same for the 21-year-old, they would be looking at a very talented midfield. They would be roaring to go with Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Veiga, Jones, and Thiago in their ranks.

Klopp would have had the depth and the creative players that he lacked the previous season. Moreover, with significant European experiences, these players could be game-changers for Klopp.
