Mohamed Salah has reportedly informed the club that he wants to leave Liverpool this summer to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
The Anfield giants are currently focusing on signing their fourth midfielder this summer. If they complete the signing then the midfield rebuild will finish for this season.
However, there has been news that is causing some serious talk in the transfer market. And the Reds are again on the verge of getting hit.
The English side already lost midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi Pro League. Now they might lose their star player Mohamed Salah to the Gulf country.
Earlier reports suggested that Liverpool received a ‘huge offer’ for the Egyptian forward at around $100M.
If the deal goes through this could potentially be the most expensive deal in the history of Saudi Arabian football.
And the latest as per The Guardian scoop on this matter has been enough to raise an eyebrow or two.
Liverpool might lose Mohamed Salah
According to an update by journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter, the Egyptian international is interested in a move-out. He stated,
“Mohamed Salah informed Liverpool that he would like to join Al-Ittihad starting a new experience in Saudi Arabia.”
This obviously came after the news that Klopp got angry with Salah for entertaining offers from Saudi side Al-Ittihad.
He added,
“The final decision is up to LFC and Klopp: as told, there is a huge bid (more than $100m) for the England club to let him go. Monday 28th August is the deadline.”
The 31-year-old is one of the senior-most players in the squad. He is also the main man on the frontline for the Merseysiders.
Losing him at this stage will simply mean that the attack will fall apart and the Reds would have to start from the start again. And Klopp and the club would definitely not want that to happen.
The Anfield giants should definitely focus on the upcoming game against Newcastle this weekend and then deal with this crisis.
