Liverpool are reportedly in talks to sign midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United during the summer transfer window.

The Reds are said to be targeting Rice to help turn around their fortunes after a difficult season, with the player identified as one of their top targets for the midfield.

Rice has been in impressive form for West Ham, and Liverpool’s interest is said to be strong, despite competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

The £75m Midfield Gem

The 24-year-old Rice is valued at £75m and is known for his ability to break up play and recycle possession effectively. The £60k per week gem also rates in the top 3% of midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues for interceptions per 90.

He has also recorded a Sofascore rating of 7.21 in the division this term – the highest in David Moyes’ squad – and boasts an average of 2.3 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 1.1 key passes, and a 59% duel success rate, highlighting the remarkable scope of his skill set.

He has played a crucial role in West Ham’s previous successful season, which saw them finish in sixth place and secure a spot in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

His impressive performances have earned him praise from journalists and fans alike, with many referring to him as a “force of nature” and a “monster”. Rice has forged 239 appearances and been instrumental in the ascension to successive European campaigns.

Liverpool to replace Fabinho with Declan Rice?

Liverpool’s interest in Rice comes amid reports of the club’s struggles in midfield this season. While results have improved in recent weeks, the team has been inconsistent.

Liverpool are also said to be targeting Alexis Mac Allister, a World Cup-winning Argentine, and if both deals are completed, the team could have a devastating midfield duo in their squad.

Liverpool are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, with several players set to leave the club. Out-of-contract players like Naby Keïta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner are all likely to depart, while Roberto Firmino has already confirmed his departure at the end of the season.

Klopp is said to be looking to bring in new players to rejuvenate his squad and help the team reclaim their place at the top of the game. Meanwhile, should Jurgen Klopp decide that he needs a replacement for Fabinho, then Declan Rice would be the perfect fit.

With the departure of several key players and the need to improve after a difficult season, the addition of a player like Rice could be just what Liverpool needs to turn things around.

While competition from other Premier League clubs is expected, Liverpool’s strong interest in the midfielder suggests that they are willing to pay a hefty transfer fee to secure his services.
